Harry Is a Cellist based in London. After completing his Masters in Advanced Instrumental Studies (MMus)(MPerf) Scholarship student, and winner of the Ivan Sutton Competition at the World renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Harry continued his association with the college as a Fellow. He is now a freelance cellist and a part of the Musicians Answering Service (MAS).
Graduating with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Music Performance from the University of Leeds with the “Award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance” and the “Alison Christine Silversides Award”, Harry spent his third year of Erasmus studies abroad at the Conservatorio di Verona, Italy.
Harry enjoys orchestral playing and has been Principal Cellist of The Peak District String Orchestra (PDSO); The University of Leeds School of Music's Orchestra; The Leeds University Music Society's (LUUMS) Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. He also performs regularly with The GSMD Symphony orchestra in the Barbican under conductors including Baldur Brönnimann; Roberto González-Monjas; Richard Farnes, and Nicholas Collon. He continues to perform regularly with the Award Winning Chiarina Piano Quartet in venues around London including The V&A, OXO Tower, The Gherkin, Tower Bridge, The Claremont Project, St Stephen Walbrook, St Mary-le-Bow, and St. Bartholomew the Great as a part of the City Music Society’s concert series.
Harry is an experienced soloist including recitals of J.C Bach's Cello Concerto in C Minor; Shostakovich in Milton Court; Beethoven in St Mary-le-Bow; and Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor in both Leeds and Koblenz, Germany. Harry loves playing at London Concert Venues such as The Barbican, Milton Court, Silk Street Music Hall, Fairfield Halls, and Blackheath Halls.
Harry studied with Sue Lowe (Eton College) for eight years, and Tim Lowe (Guildhall College) since 2019. He often attends The International Cello Gathering at Bryanston School, in Dorset, where he has received masterclasses from Sandie Bailey; Louise Hopkins; Tim Hugh; Matt Lowe; Pierre Doumenge, and Adrian Brendel . Whilst at Guildhall he has also received Chamber coaching from Gary Pomeroy; Carole Presland; Ursula Smith; Krysia Osostowicz; The Endellion Quartet; The Heath Quartet and The Consone Quartet.
